Despite the title of this blog I am not going to attend the University of New South Wales. I am a University of Sydney girl of course but Cindy invited me to come to the UNSW O-week party on Thursday night.

My girl Cindy and me.

Bumped into a number of people including Jess and Mike.
Prior to the party I went to have the most wonderful dinner at the hottest restaurant du jour Tetsuya’s. It takes up to six months to book in for a weekend. Yan and I had the degustation set menu which was a 12 course meal and each course was so well presented it looked like works of art (I almost couldn’t bear to eat it… almost being the operative word ^.~).

Why do the majority of us feel so happy when those little digits on our scales go down?
Why do we eat the last five Tim Tams then feel like shit afterwards?
Why do we instantly feel slimmer, longer and healthier after jogging for the first time in years?
Its all to do with our head. Our minds are controlled with the immutable statement, “must be skinny, skinny is good.” In this day and age when our society is so absorbed with the thin and beautiful bodies of celebrities we have become susceptible to think the worst of ourselves with the most trivial comments.
“I think you look better in those other jeans.”
Shit, Im fat!

A few days ago I went to have dinner at Icebergs in Bondi and I experienced the most delicious apricot tart covered in custard. It makes my taste buds shiver just thinking about it.
Right, I wasnt just going to blog about food, but I was just thinking about that apricot tart and I felt like it was my duty to share that thought with the world. Anyway today was raining… and the boys made me walk through to the rain just because they wanted to play Black Jack in Star City. I swear they have gambling problems. Later on we went to Greenwood to meet up with Mikes UTS co-op friends but John and I left after an hour because there was nothing to do except drink and I dont drink… at all. Im such a good girl arent I? I dont drink, smoke, take drugs or gamble XD

Abortion is something I have never had to think about, simply because I don’t ever expect to become pregnant by accident. But of course that’s quite a nave way of thinking.
I think every girl has been asked the fateful question of, what would you do if you became pregnant? by their girlfriends. Personally for me if I was still in high school or university and was still unable to support of myself whether be it financially or emotionally, I would have an abortion. I know it means that my own flesh and blood cannot be brought into this world because of my selfish decision, but how can I take care of a baby when I can’t even take care of myself?

This post is dedicated to those boys (yes, I am targeting straight boys because girls and gay boys are slightly more thoughtful in this department) who buy their girlfriends or soon-to-be-girlfriends bread baskets for their birthday. Since its Valentines Day next Tuesday, this guide is used as an emergency, as I expect you boys have already have the gifts ready to go.
Remember its important to give the perfect gift for you soon-to-be-girlfriend because you really need to impress her to show her that youre sincere, thoughtful and generous. Its even more important to give the right gift to your already-been-together-for-years-girlfriend to show that you still care. It also gives her a lot of face when her single girlfriends receive 99 long stemmed roses from their soon-to-be-boyfriends, and you buy her the whole damn flower shop. Yes, on Valentines Day all girls love to be OTT (over the top).

I met up with Ellis today and had a fabulous time just chatting over coffee (well for me it was an Ice blended Vanilla Mocha). Ellis wore a shirt which had Gravitation written across it (only like one of my favourite animes) and he loved my purple Dior crystal cuff bangle, which scores +++++ more brownie points with me XD
One thing that Ellis said today which really caught my attention was that many of his friends who were yaoi fangirls (yaoi meaning manga depicting boys *ahem* bonking other boys) were also bisexual. I guess, in a way this may seem a bit strange to him as girls who like yaoi usually love boys so much that they think two is better than one. So why were these girls (who love boys so much) interested in other girls?

First up I changed my commenting system to haloscan.com as people have emailed me saying their comments wont go through.
Secondly, Im re-watching The Sex and the City series on DVD. Proudly brought to me by Yan who has every series except my favourite Nip/Tuck (I dont care if it got axed, I loved that show *cries*).
Thirdly, I have a friend who went skiing in Hungry and came home with four pairs of Chanel shoes. Not only does she have a pretty face, she now has pretty feet… I am seething with jealousy. Check out the fat bling on her favourite pair!

I am just about the laziest person in existence. So undomesticated and sososo lazy!!!
I got the house for a week as my parents were overseas with my sister, and they trusted that I could take care of myself, you know being 18 and all
One thing they left me to do was to take out the trash on the Tuesday night, remember that the gardener comes in on Thursday afternoons and make sure that leaves dont get stuck in the automatic pool cleaner.

There are certain qualities that people look for in a friend. A true friend is someone who is loyal, honest, trustworthy and fun. But how do you distinguish the fine line between sincere honesty and cruel honesty?
Personally, I would tell a friend that her boyfriend is cheating on her if I saw him sucking face with another girl. Even though it might hurt her at the time, in the long run itll be for her own good. However, I probably wouldnt tell a friend negative comments said about him or her. Scenario:

Memoirs of a Geisha

This 2006 film adaptation of Arthur Goldens bestseller novel, Memoirs of a Geisha, has generated much excitement from the public. From its questionable castings of Chinese actresses to the opulence in costume and set design has left many of us waiting and wondering what the film has to offer.

Guess what time it is? Its time for the Spring ‘06 Haute Couture collections. Yay!!!
Why isnt anyone is cheering with me? >.< ;;
Apart from the fact that the majority of couture pieces are frivolously extravagant they are also highly impractical. But whos complaining, its not like I can afford any even if I wanted to. Ill be writing a article on this seasons Haute Couture collections soon, so stay tuned^^
Anyway last Saturday night, me and my sexy gal pal Maggie went clubbing in Bamboo at Martin Place Bar. Maggie knew the organisers so we got in without lining up (and since Ive become fantastic friends with Brad and Henri, does that mean I dont have to line up anymore? lol)

Hi, my name is Mel aka. Beijing Baby! I’m currently 18 and I’m deferring a year of university to go on exchange to Japan for 10 months. I was born in Beijing (as obvious as it may seem o.O) but grew up in Sydney, Australia.
Hmm, I’m 173cm (about 5′8) so I’ve done some part time modelling here and there. However the main “use” of my height is for basketball. I’ve played forward on my school team for 6 years <3<3<3
I also love singing and when I was younger my dream was to become a singer, however in the past couple of years my aspirations have altered a little, to one day become the Editor-in-chief of Vogue =D (Editor you say? Pfft was that grammar even correct?) lol
